These are the settings required by UK clients to prevent blocking or throttling by their internet providers

BT
Disable SMART SETUP and PARENTAL CONTROLS for BT Broadband

Sky
For Sky you will need to login to your Sky Broadband account and in there you will need to disable your Sky Broadband Shield.

EE
EE Broadband users will need to disable CONTENT LOCK / ORANGE SAFEGUARD.

TalkTalk
TalkTalk users need to disable TALK TALK HOME SAFE. This can be done by logging into your account, selecting Extras & Offers then selecting Manage Home Safe.

Virgin Media
Virgin Media users will need to disable WEB SAFE. You can do this by logging into your Virgin Media account, select Apps, select Web Safe, select Settings and turn it off in there.

PlusNet
PlusNet users need to disable PLUSNET SAFEGUARD. To do this you will need to go to your PlusNet SafeGuard Control Panel and then click on the ON/OFF button at the top. This can take a while to de-activate.

If PlusNet offer you their latest router - be aware that this is locked on IPv6 and it can't be changed. If you do need its extra Wi-Fi capabilities etc leave old router connected to give you your internet connection and connect the new hub to this as a repeater (no direct internet connection)

Vodafone

Vodafone users need to login to their Vodafone broadband account and disable CONTENT CONTROL and SAFE SITES

Many ISPs will reset these features back to "On" on a regular basis - If you start to have problems check that this has not happened to you - Don't rely on them staying the same

ISPs throughout Europe are starting to implement similar measures - they may have different names but the procedures will be similar i.e. log into your account with provider and look for anything named safety or similar and disable it
